Who ordained you to be first?

By Angela M. Thomas

Don’t allow your pride and arrogance to destroy you in the process. Being first, doesn’t make you greater, powerful, important and significant. Jesus said to James and John, “Now breathen, I can’t give you greatness. And really, I can’t make you first.” He said, that is something you must earn. If you place your focus on being important, recognized, great and successful, than that’s wonderful. Everybody can be all of these things. You only need a heart full of grace that’s willing to love and serve. A soul generated by love.

I must tell you that it’s more important to serve and help others along the way. It doesn’t require you to have a College Degree, become a Business Owner, Artist or Producer, Writer, Doctor or Lawyer to serve unlike other things. The world has a way of associating greatness with accolades, ambition and credentials. It’s more important to give and show love to somebody other than yourself and your material possessions. It’s more important to reach out and feed the hungry and seek and provide clothing to those who are naked. It’s more important to visit our brothers and sisters that are locked behind the cemented walls in prison and speak to their minds, hearts and soul by encouraging them to seek “His Face and allow Him to lead and direct their paths. It’s more important to love and serve humanity, fight for peace and equality, righteousness, protecting our children and commitment to change.

The love and kindness we show to others is evidence that you and I know Him and love Him. Without Him, there would be no need for worrying about greatness, recognition, being important, or success. Let’s continue to be diligent and in due season, we will reap.”

If we can learn to be true to one another and committed to serve, fight for justice and stand by and love one another…we all can be first!

I like this article, why do people think they have to be first in everything. Life isn't about you being first, the word says the first will be last & the last will be first. If we don't understand what he meant, it is about self, putting us before God. A true article to the end, this is what we need to remind ourselves when we are selfish.
