Just Push the Restart Button

By Angela M. Thomas

“If you return to me, I will restore you…I will give you back your health and heal your wounds,” says the Lord. Jeremiah 15:19; 30:17, NLT

To restore means to bring back to a former or original condition. When we read of God’s restoring work in Scripture, we find that He always improves, increases, and multiplies something above and beyond its original condition. It’s a beautiful promise.

Our God’s deepest desire is a relationship with you and me. It is within a close personal connection with Him that the healing and rebuilding of our lives begins. Jesus makes a promise to the weak and wounded of this world. He says, “The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, because the Lord has appointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to announce that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed. He has sent to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord’s favor has come, and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies. To all who mourn in Israel, he will give beauty for ashes, joy instead of mourning, praise instead of despair” (Isaiah 61:1-3, NLT).

He is with us and wants to comfort and heal us. At this very moment, I believe God is in a serious battle for us and pushing back hell. He knows and sees our inner pain, griefs and losses. He knows that we sometime suffer with great pain and He wants to touch our wounds with His healing hands. There are something’s we just can’t do without having Jesus in our lives.

Every morning can be a fresh start---a brand new opportunity to turn to God. While rolling out of bed we can start our day off by saying a simple prayer. I believe the time has come for us to change our focus and our ways. He is the only one that can wipe away our sins and give us a clean slate.

Time and experience have taught me that He is ultimately in tuned and acquainted with every burden we bear, and that He is absolutely intentional about sending blessings to refresh us when we need them most.

God is at work in you. He is steadfast in His love and extends an invitation: “Call to me and I will answer you. I’ll tell you marvelous and wondrous things that you could never figure out on your own” (Jeremiah 33:3,). He you call, God will answer. He is for you. He is your Avenger. He longs to restore and renew you. He will compassionately attend to your needs. His resources are inexhaustible.

He will blow your mind with His good and loving ways. For He specializes in what we think is impossible. Remember that there is no real risk with God by our side. Just push the restart button.

This article really hit home for me, pushing the button is the only way to go. We can't continue without God's direction when we don't know which way to go. It is important to pray and seek God for everything we do. There is nothing wrong with asking for patience.
