Building a Solid Business Foundation

Every day you sit at your desk wishing you could just quit your 9 to 5 job and start your own company. You’re tired of making someone else’s dreams happen while yours are dying slowing. You want to be your own BOSS now but you have no clue how to get started or where to turn. Tap Tap if this sound like you don’t worry we’ve all been there before but now it’s time that you start to act. You can daydream for the next 365 days and it won’t change a thing. So where should you start? Start with yourself first!

Too often new entrepreneurs invest all this time and energy into creating a business plan but they don’t invest any time into themselves and recognizing their habits, strengths and weakness. Imagine building a house on broken boards and expecting it to hold up this beautiful house you have envisioned. Eventually the house will fall apart (just like your business) because of a poor foundation.

It’s time to be honest! Before moving forward with starting your business you need to look at the seven key areas of your life; health (spiritually, mentally, physically), relationships (friends, family associates, significant others, coworkers), finances, work, purpose, education and lifestyle. If any of these areas are out of balance it will affect how you manage your business.

It doesn’t mean that each of these areas needs to be perfect but you need to recognize where you need to grow before adding a business to your life. For example, if you have a problem with managing your own finances on a daily basis how do you think you will manage your business and its money? Whatever habits you have personally usually trickle down to how you operate your business. Instead of creating a business and learning the hard lessons about yourself that could end your business before it gets started take time and self evaluate to ensure your business is on a solid foundation.
