7 Things YOU Need To Do Daily as an Entrepreneur

2012 will be here before you know and now is the time to develop better habits as an entrepreneur. Just as we talked about last week on how to prepare for 2012 as a whole there are some things you need to be doing daily to insure your success and sanity as a business owner. Listed below are my tips. Hold them near and dear to you…starting now!

#1 Plan. Decided what you are going to work on for that particular day. If you can plan ahead. So each night before you go to bed sit down and think about what your business need to accomplish that day in order to meet the goals you have established for the week. That’s right you should be establishing weekly, and monthly goals and if you aren’t then start now! I

#2 Read. That’s right READ. Each day you should be learning something about your target market and your craft. You are supposed to be a lifelong learner. In addition you need to read up on your competitors, find out if your clients are catering to them versus you. Review what they are doing on their website versus what you are doing.

#3 Meditate. Be still and think on what you’ve accomplished and do you like where your heading with your business. As business owners you are pulled in a million directions daily and the nose can sometimes drown out your better judgment. However, I suggest to my clients that they pick a time daily to site and be still. No crackberry, no iphone, now internet no meetings. Site and gain clarity on where you are that moment as the boss! In addition you can take the time to speak affirmation about your business, pray or write in your journal. You will be surprised what a moment of stillness will do to help you regain focus.

#4 Know Your Cents. You need to know where you stand financially daily. There should never be a time where you aren’t sure what’s in your account. How much money you are spending and bringing in. Don’t count on getting second hand cents you need to know firsthand!

#5 Communicate. If you have a team or are in the process of adding team members to your company communication is key. Your team should never feel like they don’t know the companies vision and where you are heading for the day. If the BOSS doesn’t know then how will the people know? Over communicate instead of under communicating.

#6 Have Fun. That’s right! Have FUN! If you can’t enjoy your business then why did you start it? Your business shouldn’t be something you dread going to and if it is then you may want to check if that’s the right business for you. Find time to laugh even at your own mistakes. Get your team involved in some type of fun activity daily. Happy employees produce better work!

#7 Be Visible. Your business should be on social media whether it’s Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter or Google +. These social media outlets are just cute icons to have on your website. They are tools to reach millions of people. Every day you should be engaging people on social media. Don’t just spit information out but actually engage your consumer in a conversation. Build relationships which turn into potential consumers.
